Looking for a unique way to cool down this summer? In Ontario, you can float down a Kongo-themed lazy river that will bring out your wildest imaginations.
Calypso Water Park is a 100-acre lot of pure wet fun. Located just a half-hour drive east of Ottawa, the park is a hub for water-themed entertainment, featuring 35 heated waterslides, 100 water games, eight restaurants, a Hawaiian beach bar, a VIP cabana area and much more.
Arguably the most interesting attraction at the park is the Kongo Expedition: a half-kilometre lazy river that takes you through flooded caves, tropical villages and raging waterfalls. The current flows at a moderate speed so riders can fully take in the experience, which includes giant mammals, reptiles and primates along the way.
The entire river takes 15 minutes to complete and ends at the Kongo Beach, where riders can enjoy a glorious wave pool and splash zone.
Riders who are less than 48" tall will need to wear a life jacket. Because the ride involves uneven motion, flashing lights and spontaneous pulses of water, it is not recommended for individuals who are younger than 3 years old, pregnant, epileptic or have heart problems.
