Tucked away in Ontario's southwest region is a wilderness pod resort that offers a unique camping experience for the summer.
Long Point Eco-Adventures specializes in fun nature experiences for Canadians. There are a variety of activities and excursions to try at the resort, including zip lining, treetop trekking, stargazing, kayaking, mountain biking, edible hikes and much more.
Perhaps the coolest feature of the resort is its collection of private pod suites, which add an extra element of luxury and comfort to the traditional camping experience. The accommodations are designed to be "purely Canadian" with inspiration taken from one of the resort owners' experience in Africa climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
"Wilderness Suites will provide the comforts of home with views, sounds and sensations seldom, if ever, experienced elsewhere in the world," reads a description from the Long Point Eco-Adventures website. "Tastefully furnished to create an authentic and relaxed atmosphere, the decor has been picked to match with local tastes and history."
Each wilderness suite consists of the following amenities:
- King or queen beds
- Private flush toilet and outdoor shower
- Hot and cold running water
- Hardwood floors
- Sliding glass locking door
- Private deck
- Electrical outlets
- Free outdoor parking
- Activities concierge
- Full hot buffet complementary breakfast
The pod suites can be rented out for as low as $199 a night, during low season weekdays. Weekends are little pricier, with rentals coming at $249 during low season and $299 during high season.
