You Can Explore These Snow-Covered Trails In Ontario On Fat Bikes This Winter

A unique winter thrill.

Biking isn’t an only a summer activity - In Ontario, you can still hit the trails in the winter using modified bikes that will cut right through the white stuff.

They’re called fat bikes, and they’re exactly like regular bikes except they have thicker-than-normal tires designed for riding on snow. The activity has been around since 2005, but has been gaining popularity in recent years.

Muskoka has a variety of trails that support fat bikes. They each have useful signs that are specifically intended to guide fat bikers on the right path. Outfitters in the area offer safe and exciting fat biking experiences that typically include rentals, guided tours and helpful recommendations.

For guided tours, Discover Muskoka suggests Algonquin Outfitters and Liv Outside, which are located in Hunstville and Bracebridge respectively.
