One common (and outrageous) misconception the world has about Canadians is that they all live in igloos. And while such is definitely not true, igloos still do exist in Canada, and there are even a couple of them that you can actually stay overnight at!
The North Adventure Inn is a unique hotel accommodation in Cochrane, Ontario that has real igloos available for guests to rent out. These are some of the most decked out igloos you'll ever come across - they each consist of 2 double beds, sofas, a television set, a full bath and a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. They are even supplied with electricity and WiFi!
There are also a lot of fun things to do in the hotel itself. A restaurant and skidoo bar is open to guests during the winter, as well as an outdoor hot tub and sauna. The hotel is also connected to a beautiful snow mobile trail, for those who would like to do some back country exploring.
From Toronto, it is a lengthy 7 hour or so drive, so it would probably make for a better weekend getaway than a day trip. However, it would be totally worth an adventurer's while because the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat is only 8 minutes away from the hotel!
