The gorgeous summer weather has finally arrived in Ontario and we all couldn't be happier. It's such a relief to be able to walk outside without a heavy coat on, soak up the sunshine and spend all your free time enjoying the great outdoors.
That's the best part about summer, being able to spend all your time outside going on hikes, laying out in the sun, and cool outdoor activities. If you're someone who loves being active and discovering new things this unique experience is definitely for you!
The Lockport Cave & Underground Boat Ride in New York State lets you float through these ancient caves near Niagara Falls!
The Lockport Cave & Underground Boat Ride is located at 5 Gooding St in Lockport, New York. Lockport is just over a 2 hour drive from Toronto, a 5.5 hour drive from Ottawa, a 4.5 hour drive from Kingston and just a 45 min drive from Niagara Falls.
Their 2018 season officially starts up this month where you can explore Eerie canal and the underground cave system that was blasted out of solid rock back in the mid-1800s!
The tour starts you off outside by the Eerie Canal where you can admire the local history, then you head to this creepy entrance that will lead you down into a 1,600 foot water tunnel.
From there you'll reach America's longest underground boat ride that will take you through the rest of the cave system. The boat ride will last about 70 minutes and is dimly lit by electrical lights so it's not pitch dark.
This completely unique adventure is open from May to October every year and will cost $16 for adults and $10 for children. This mysterious adventure is definitely one for the books this summer.
