Fall is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate the coziest season of the year than with a trip to a pumpkin patch?
The Knox Pumpkin Farm is one of Ontario's classic destinations for fall fun. Located just north of the small town of Courtice, the farm has been running for four generations now and still never fails to put on exciting events for families and guests. Their motto is simple: Come for the pumpkins, stay for the fun!
While most people visit with the intention of picking out pumpkins for Halloween and Thanksgiving, there are several other activities to participate in at the farm. Guests can take wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, go straw jumping, peruse through the corn maize and sayi hi to the farm animals on site.
There are also several delicious foods and drinks available for sale at the nearby market, including Knox Farm's very own kettle corn, cider from the Geissberger Farmhouse, and several baked goods from local vendors.
This year, the pumpkin patch will open on Sept. 29 and will stay in operation daily through to Oct. 31. It will also hold weekend events in December, so you'll still have a chance to visit if you aren't able to make it out during the open season.
