The journey begins in Toronto, where participants will board a flight to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. There, they will board the Ocean Endeavour - a massive Arctic vessel that will be their home for the duration of the trip. Sondre Stromfjord, one of the longest fjords in the world, is the first stop on the itinerary, followed by northerly fishing communities of Qeqqata Kommunia and Nuuk.

On the fourth day, the vessel will sail onroute to Canada, crossing the Davis Strait alongside beautiful marine animals like minke and humpback whales. The vessel will dock in Kangiqsualujjuaq, a community in northestern Labrador that features picturesque landscapes and unique wildlife. The remaining days of the trip will be spent touring various notable locations along the Labrador coast including Torngat Mountains National Park, Hebron, Nain, L'Anse aux Meadows and St. John's (in Newfoundland).

Here are some more trip highlights:

  • Set foot on the fabled Wonderstrands from the Viking sagas
  • Cross the Arctic circle while sailing a spectacular Greenlandic fjord
  • Search for polar bears and marine mammals
  • Hike the pristine wilds of the Torngat Mountains National Park
  • See the many icebergs heading south along the Labrador coast
  • Explore the abandoned community of Hebron
  • Visit Nuuk, one of the world’s northernmost capital cities

The cruise will run from September 23 to October 7, 2017 this year. Packages start at $4,995 and include shipboard meals/snacks, onboard workshops and presentations, access to ship resources (like the library), as well as admission to museums, parks, wilderness areas, and various tours at each location (commercial flights are not included in the packages)

While the cost of the cruise may be on the pricier side, it is definitely one for a lifetime! For more information, visit AdventureCanada.com.
