1. Day trip to Regina beach + fish and chips at Blue Bird Café

Regina Beach is the perfect spot for spending a day in the sun. While you’re there, grab lunch at Blue Bird Café, the cutest little retro diner that serves ahhhhh-mazing fish and chips, and soft serve ice-cream. The café is only open seasonal, so summer is the perfect time to check it out!

2. Hiking Wascana Trails

Whether you’re actually in the mood for a hike or a walk, Wascana Trails offers beautiful sights to see and nature galore. It’s a great way to escape the city for a couple of hours if you’re looking for a longer commitment, or it works too if you’re just in for an evening stroll. Grab ice cream or a milkshake at Milky Way on your way back — all that walking deserves a reward.

5. Lunch at Italian Star Deli and then canoe around Wascana Park

Since 1966, Italian Star Deli has been serving up some of the best sandwich fare in Regina. Grab a friend or your significant other and head to the Deli to pick up a sandwich to go. Next, mosey on over to Wascana Park, where you can rent canoes or kayaks for the day at the marina. Guarantee that sandwich will taste even better while you’re on the water.

6. Hit up 13th Ave / The Cathedral for a Food Crawl

Who says you have to eat dinner all in one place? Start at Viet Thai for some incredible Vietnamese spring rolls as an appetizer, then try the Cathedral Social Hall for one of their delicious burgers — veggie options available as well — and then cap off the night with a coffee at 13th Avenue Coffee House. 7. Take a class at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre

Although summer means school’s out, it just might be the perfect chance to learn something new — or catch up on an old hobby. The Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre offers classes for adults over the summer months in many areas, including 3D printing, jewellery making, painting, and photography. 2017 just might be the summer to brush up — literally — on a new skill.
