11 Places In Calgary To Find Food Under $9

Foodies on a budget.

Being a broke person sucks, but being a broke person who loves food is even worse. The worst part about being a crazy foodie is that food is expensive. Especially in Calgary. And if you're a bougie foodie like me and the value menu at McDonald's doesn't cut it - you probably find yourself in a dilemma quite often. A hangry dilemma.

I learned the hard way that spending $15 - $20 per meal almost every day will cause your chequing account to eventually file for divorce... and your savings account will do the same... and don't even get me started on my credit card... he ghosted on me and changed his number. I'm sure most of you are thinking "stop eating out." Which all of us foodies have heard time and time again. But one cannot possibly tell a foodie to stop "eating out."

I'm here to tell you not to stop eating out but to start eating smart. The goal is to get a good amount of food and food that'll fill you up for almost half the price so you won't be spending the equivalent of a tank of gas every single day on food. Whether you're a broke and busy student or just don't want to spend a bunch of money on food anymore, Calgary has so many options that'll get you delicious food without having to sell your soul to pay for it.
