Every Calgarian knows how tempting it can be to waste away your winter in bed, watching your favourite Christmas classics on Netflix and drinking endless cups of hot chocolate. With the abundance of snow we get every year, on top of the dry air, and the cold winds, putting on a winter jacket and braving the cold is the last thing you want to do.

Of course, eventually you'll need to leave your cozy bedroom and head outside and face the snow, but that doesn't mean that your winter experience is going to be miserable. Winter is actually one of the busiest times of year, what with all the holiday festivities, outdoor activities, and opportunities for getaways.

Another thing that this time of year is infamously known for is referred to as "cuffing season". It always seems that when the snow falls, couples begin to appear all around you, left, right, and centre. If you're in a relationship, this doesn't bug you whatsoever, but when you're single, all the love bugs flying around you can start to drive you crazy.

Don't worry, though. You can still have plenty of fun this winter without a significant other; that's what best friends are for, right? All those cute couple Instagram pictures you see on your feed can easily be recreated with your sister or BFF, and what sounds better than an all girl's getaway to the mountains? Get ready to have the best winter ever with your BFFs!
