Día de Muertos Plus 15 Parade

Why You Need To Go: Join the Hispanic Arts Society for their first annual Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Parade in Calgary. The parade will begin inside the Calgary Plus 15 system at Brookfield Place and travel through the Plus 15s until the final destination of City Hall. How often do you get to join an indoor parade and celebrate the vibrant Mexican version of Halloween in YYC?

Marquee Closing Weekend

When: Friday, November 1 & Saturday, November 2

Why You Need To Go: If you haven't heard, the Marquee in Calgary is closing for good and this weekend is your last chance to tear up the dance floor. They will be offering “drink the bar dry” specials where everything is $5.50 all night long on both nights.

Health officials in Alberta are officially launching a vaccine incentive for residents over 18, so get ready to make some quick money if you have yet to get your doses.

During a press conference on September 3, Alberta's Minister of Health Tyler Shandro announced that a one-time incentive of $100 will be given out to Albertans aged 18 and over who receive a first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine between September 3 and October 14.

According to an update from the province's top doctor, COVID-19 cases in Alberta are on the rise again.

Chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, provided the update via Twitter on Tuesday, August 17. She noted that there had been 407 cases reported in the past 24 hours.
