Albertans Are Admitting How They Really Feel About The Pipeline And It's Getting Messy

Almost everyone is well aware of the pipeline debacle that has been happening in Alberta at the moment. Alberta, being the oil capital of Canada, has been attempting to build a pipeline and has hit a few roadblocks and economic declines in the process. Albertans aren’t happy about the current situation and are seeking answers.
Albertathrowaway2018 reached out on Reddit today in a post stating how embarrassed they were to be from Alberta, due to the way that some of Alberta has been acting about the issue, and many other Albertans seemed to agree with them. Yet, some had their own opinions instead.
In case you didn’t know, Albertans have been upset about the oil industryfor a while, as some sectors of the economy are failing due to the low prices of their oil. This has resulted in many oil businesses needing to cut back the hours of their workers and lay some employees off.
Rallies have been held throughout the province and many Albertans are reaching out to the Prime Minister to help them with this issue. According to Albertathrowaway2018, many Albertans have been seen calling Trudeau names and threats in attempts to express their frustration over the issue.
Reddit user Albertathrowaway2018 expressed his frustrations in the way that Albertans have been acting lately, and surprisingly, many other users seemed to agree with him. In their post, they said “My point is, this is embarrassing. I’m embarrassed to say that I am from here because of this. This aggressive and threating attitude is horrific,”. (See the full post here)
Many Reddit Users of the reddit/r/alberta.com subreddit, reached out through the comment to express that they share the same concerns or that they disagreed.
Thanosfalling was one of the first to agree, stating “I too am embarrassed by these people because that’s what the rest of the country/world ends up stereotyping a typical Albertan as. It sucks, but just know that we aren’t all like this,”. and many other followed, stating about how Albertans can handle the situation a bit more like Canadians.
The main consensus that users seemed to have was that they were embarrassed that some Albertans have been using hate to try and voice their frustrations instead of acting in a more respectful manner. However, there were a few comments that could be found in the post that did not seem to fully agree with everyone else.
Dyslexic13 shared his counter-argument by commenting, "here's a solution; build the f*cking pipeline,".
