"Ghostbusters 2020" Celebrated Their Last Day Shooting In Calgary With An Adorable Group Shot (PHOTO)

For those of you who didn't already know, the newest Ghostbusters was recently filmed in the beautiful city of Calgary. The newest movie in the franchise will be released in July 2020 and it features a cast of pretty familiar faces. They seemed to really enjoy the production process and when Ghostbusters 2020 finished filming in Calgary and the cast shared a cute group photo to commemorate.
It appears that Ghostbusters 2020 is just a working title as the "2020" just represents the year of its release. There are still other details that have yet to be released, including a bunch of the cast members' characters. Some notable faces include Canadian and Stranger Things star, Finn Wolfhard, and the infamous Paul Rudd, both with unconfirmed characters. Reitman's super adorable photo features Mckenna Grace, Logan Kim, and Carrie Coon, all with unconfirmed characters as well.
But it will also feature actors from the original movie: Canadian Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Sigourney Weaver. According to IMDb, Aykroyd and Weaver's characters are confirmed as their original roles, Dr. Raymond Stantz and Dana Barrett. Currently, Murray is only rumoured by IMDb to be playing his original character, Peter Venkman.
The movie is directed by Jason Reitman, who posted the original group photo on his Instagram. Reitman is a Canadian who hails from Montreal and has also directed notable pieces including Thank You for Smoking, Juno, and Up in the Air. He is the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the original Ghostbusters in 1984 and produced this new sequel as well.
Over the weekend, Jason posted a group shot with himself, the Ghostbusters kids, his father, and Carrie Coon, with the caption "Wrapped! 68 days and still smiling.#GB20".
The adorable Kim posted a selfie with Wolfhard this weekend, calling him "such a cool dude" which we have no problem believing based on Wolfhard's success.
The original Ghostbusters came out 35 years ago, and this will be the third spin-off since its inception. Ghostbusters II was released in 1989 with the original cast following the same storyline. In 2016, the all-female led Ghostbusters: Answer the Call premiered, and a lot of people had varied opinions on it. The sequel starred Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Kristen Wiig, but it only got a 5.2/10 rating on IMBD, showing the audience's disappointment.
A very brief trailer for Ghostbsuters 2020 was released and it doesn't give away too many details about the plot. Check out the video below!
It's so nice to see a cast of fresh faces taking on the Ghostbusters' roles, and even greater knowing that familiar faces will pop in as well.
