Now that summer is gone for yet another year, you and your significant other might be wondering how you'll spend your date nights. You've likely got in a routine of spending your time together outside in the sunshine or hiding out inside to beat the heat. Since the seasons have changed, it will soon be too cold for ice cream, beach days, and walks in the park - but that doesn't mean you're stuck with no options but to stay inside and Netflix n' Chill!

It's easy to get lazy when the weather gets cold, we get it. When the snow starts to fall, you can barely get me out of bed to go to class - much less to go out on a date. Realistically though, we all know that all the real relationship fun happens in the fall. Cute coffee dates, skate dates, weekend getaways to the mountains, relaxing spa days, snapping cute photos together in the leaves, Halloween... The list is endless! Sometimes, you just have to get creative when it comes to brainstorming.

If you happen to live in small-town Alberta, or you're bored of your usual date nights in Calgary or Edmonton, this list has a ton of great dates you can go on that are spread all across the province! Whether you want to go Horseback Riding through the Rocky Mountains, or eat a romantic dinner at the top of the Calgary Tower, we've got you.

A lot of people like to go all out for birthdays and anniversaries, but I'm of the belief that you don't need an excuse to go all out and celebrate. If you feel the same way, and would like to do something extra special for your s/o this fall, let this be your ultimate guide:

Getaway to Sylvan Lake

@theawakenedveganembedded via

It may be fall, but that doesn't mean that a trip to the lake is out of the question! You may not be able to swim, but you can still kick back, relax, and enjoy the view. While you're there, be sure to check out the Sylvan Steam & Spa, where you can treat yourselves to an uber-relaxing couples massage, or any other spa treatment that tickles your fancy. The town of Sylvan Lake is home to a boutique hotel or a variety of cozy and welcoming Airbnb's that are perfect for spending a night or two with your boo.

Explore the town of Banff

@jasmineskyerocheembedded via

Let's be honest - is there anywhere more romantic in Alberta than Banff? Perhaps one of the most picturesque spots the province has to offer, it only makes sense to explore it with your favourite person! While you're visiting, be sure to pay a visit to the Banff Upper Hot Springs (especially after a long day of walking or hiking), and grab a bite to eat at Bear Street Tavern or Three Ravens Restaurant & Wine Bar. There's also plenty of museums and shops that are worth visiting while in Banff!

Take a train tour of Aspen Crossing

@tuxofborgembedded via

It seems that nowadays, the only time people ride trains is when they're transiting around Calgary on the C-Train. Surprise your significant other with a super unique date night - a ride on the Aspen Crossing Railway! Not only is this a great way to take in some of the beautiful views that Alberta has to offer, but it's also a really cool dining and entertainment experience. The train offers many themed packages, including wine tasting tours and dinner theatre trips! Regardless of what you pick, we're willing to bet that your date will be impressed.

Picnic in the University of Alberta Botanic Garden

@lanadelthomembedded via

This one is most ideal for U of A student couples, but it can still be enjoyed by anyone else! The Botanic Gardens are just a short drive away from Edmonton but are well worth the trip. At this time of year, when all the leaves are changing colour, everything looks particularly beautiful. All you need to have the perfect day is your bae, a blanket, and a picnic basket jam-packed with all your favourite foods! The Gardens are also known for hosting date night events throughout the year that should be on your radar.

Go Horseback Riding in Black Diamond

@kathlenemaemediaembedded via

A trip through the mountains via horseback? Sounds v/ romantic to us. Black Diamond is a small town, just outside of Calgary that has plenty to offer. It's got that classic, small mountain town charm that will have you feeling, lazy and relaxed in the best way possible. Rent a little cabin in the woods and try your hand at horseback riding or hiking through the nearby beautiful trails.

Spend a weekend relaxing in Jasper

@kalenemsleyembedded via

Is visiting Banff out of the question? How about a weekend getaway to Jasper?! For those of you who are situated in Northern Alberta, visiting the Rocky Mountains in Jasper is probably much more ideal - and just as beautiful! While in Jasper be sure to visit the Miette Hot Springs, and afterward, treat yourself to a delicious meal and a few drinks at the Jasper Brewing Company. Jasper has a good selection of hotels for you to stay at, as well as an awesome selection of Airbnb's for you and your s/o to snuggle up in after a day of exploring.

Tour the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens

@sarahlyyonsembedded via

Yet another beautiful garden you'll find here in Alberta is the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens. Located in Lethbridge, this is a super ideal date spot for those of you located in Southern Alberta, or for those of you who want to try something totally new! This garden is definitely a lesser known spot, so it won't be as crowded or busy as some of the others on our list, but it's just as beautiful. Take a guided tour of the gardens, learn about its history, and snap some totally cute couple selfies for your Instagram!

Eat dinner at the top of the Calgary Tower

@cinzgiaembedded via

One of the best views that Calgary has to offer is undoubtedly at the top of the Calgary Tower. Sure, you could head up to the top just to snap a photo and call it a day - ORRR you can treat yourself to a super romantic dinner with an even better view! This is definitely the perfect way to celebrate an anniversary or a birthday! The sights are great at any time, but we highly recommend making evening reservations if at all possible so you can catch the sunset while you eat.

Visit the Hoodoos of Drumheller

@ashtonpolehoykiembedded via

Do you and your boo frequent the mountains? Switch it up for once and head down to the Badlands of Alberta. While you're in the area, be sure to visit the Royal Tyrell Museum, the World's Largest Dinosaur, and Dinosaur Provincial Park. If you're feeling hungry, we recommend popping into Sublime Food & Wine or The Old Grouch for a quick bite to eat before or after your day of fun fall adventures.

Check out the Edmonton Corn Maze

@sharmainevaldezembedded via

Perhaps the most stereotypical fall date that made our list, the Edmonton Corn Maze is a must visit. Not only is it the PERFECT fall photo op, but it's also a lot of fun. See who can find their way out of the maze first, pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve, and of course, soak up the beautiful fall feeling.

@myla.yambaoembedded via

@kassandrasellinembedded via

As you can see, you've got plenty of options for fall fun this year in Alberta. If you and your significant other are feeling stressed out from work, school, or just life in general, take some time to get away from it all and do something nice for yourselves - you won't regret it.
