Calgary Swimming Hole Is A Secret Paradise You Need To Add To Your Summer Bucketlist

No air conditioner? No problem. All year long, we look forward to patio season and sipping cocktails with our friends. But some days, the scorching sun will roast you in seconds, and you'll find yourself dreaming about escaping the heat. If you don't have air conditioning at home, we've got you covered. Make sure to visit this swimming hole near Calgary which is perfect for beating the heat.

Just four and a half hours from Calgary, Horseshoe Lake is a secret paradise you should find at least once in your life. Here you'll find clear turquoise water, which will have you feeling like you are on a tropical vacation.

To get to the swimming hole in Jasper National Park, you'll need to follow a short 1.1-kilometre loop trail. Just a few steps from the parking lot, you'll reach the refreshing water where you can take a dip.

This lake will quickly become your favourite place to go for a swim. Unlike nearby community pools, here you don't have to worry about crowds.

As it is in the Rocky Mountains, the water is brisk, but that is just what you need on a hot day. You certainly don't want a heated pool that feels like bathwater when it is over 25 degrees!

It's also an incredible spot to bring your pool floats. Together with your BFF's, you can relax on your giant inflatable unicorns.

Or, if you prefer, you could always bring your stand up paddleboard and explore along the gorgeous coast. Who knows what you might find!

A rep for Jasper National Park confirmed to Narcity that while you're allowed to swim in the lake, the water is very cold and you should be careful.

On hot days, the lake is very popular with swimmers, according to a Parks Canada report.

The breathtaking cliffs surrounding the lake are very tall. Although the lake is deep, cliff diving is not recommended. You can check out Adventure Smart to find out more information about how to be prepared for heading out this summer to enjoy the best of the province.

You can easily spend an entire day here in the sunshine. We suggest when you are done swimming, lay down a towel and relax the afternoon away.
