The Best Road Trips To Go On From Every Alberta University This Fall

What better way to procrastinate?

The new school year is in full swing, and I hate to say it, but if you're not stressed yet, you've got a big storm coming. The first few weeks are always the easiest, but don't be fooled; there's nothing easy about uni.

As a student, I find that some of the best ways to destress are to spend time with my friends, and to get outside, and out of the city for awhile. Luckily, Alberta is a very scenic province, so no matter where you are, something beautiful is only a few hours away.

We've put together three super fun road trips, from every major university city in Alberta. All of them are only a few hours away, perfect for a day trip, or a weekend getaway if you need some extra time to relax:

Calgary to Invermere

You can follow the map here.

The Beltliner // 243 12 Ave SW

Wouldn't be a road trip without breakfast, and The Beltliner has some of Calgary's best.

Kananaskis Country // Alberta

Take a pit stop in K-Country to stretch your legs and enjoy the insane views it has to offer before continuing on your journey.

Radium Hot Springs // British Columbia

After all that driving, you'll need a getaway from your getaway. Take a dip in the hot springs; your whole body will thank you.

Invermere // British Columbia

Although it's a popular tourist destination, Invermere has a relatively small population; perhaps that's what makes it so quaint. While you're here, we recommend that you take a hike, support some of the small local businesses, and enjoy the scenery.

Moraine Lake // Alberta

As if you haven't seen enough beauty already. The amazing, crystal clear waters of Moraine Lake are always worth a visit, even if it's just a quick one.

Banff National Park // Alberta

Banff is the perfect final pit stop before you head back to YYC. Take a walk around the quaint town, grab some lunch, and hit the road back home.

Edmonton to Jasper

You can follow the map here.

Highlevel Diner // 10912 88 Ave NW

A hearty breakfast is key to getting through the long journey ahead, plus the cinnamon buns are to die for.

Edson // Alberta

Take a pit stop in quaint, small town Alberta so you can stretch your legs and get familiar with a new town.

Miette Hot Springs // Jasper National Park

Your body is probably exhausted not only from driving, but also from all the studying you've been doing. Treat yourself to a dip in some of Alberta's best hot springs.

Pyramid Lake // Jasper National Park

Another spot worth checking out in Jasper, Pyramid Lake is both relaxing and beautiful. Take a hike around the water, and snap some pictures of the view.

Hinton // Alberta

Take one last pit stop in small town Alberta, before heading back to YEG. Hinton has a couple great options for lunch and diner, and will give you relaxing mountain town vibes before you have to start studying again.

For the Lethbridge road trip, click "Next"

Lethbridge to Banff

You can follow the map here.

Stella's Diner // 525 4th Ave S

If you're looking for diner food in Lethbridge, this is the place to go. Grab some breakfast, and then hit the road.

Calgary Tower // 101 9 Ave SW

Hope you're not afraid of heights. The Calgary Tower is a must-visit for anyone spending time in YYC.

Chinook Centre // 6455 Macleod Trail SW

We all know that when ULeth students get the chance to come to Calgary, they're going shopping. Chinook is just one of Calgary's many malls, but it'll definitely have everything you need.

Kananaskis Country

Whether you're looking to make this a hiking trip, or a viewing trip, Kananaskis is sure to please.

Banff National Park

Before heading back to Leth, take in the beauty (and the tasty treats) that Banff has to offer.
