A few months ago the city of Toronto said good bye to their pandas at the zoo.
The 4 pandas were then shipped of to the zoo in Calgary, where they will spend the next 5 years of their lives.
Today the zoo officially unveiled the panda’s to the public and they’re super cute.
The adult panda’s names are adult pandas Er Shun and Da Mao, while the 2 cubs are called Jia Panpan and Jua Yueyue.
Both the premier of Alberta Rachel Notley and the mayor of Calgary, Naheed Nenshi, were each on hand to unveil the pandas today.
Also a part of the ceremony today was Lu Sha Ye, China’s ambassador to Canada.
This is the first time in 30 years that there is a panda on display at the Calgary zoo.
The Panda’s are being held in an enclosure which once held elephants, so there’s lots of room for them to do their thing in.
The zoo expects the panda’s arrival to increase the number of people who visit this year by 25 per cent, so clearly they’re now the zoo’s main attraction.
The price of admission to the zoo range from $19.95 to $29.95, depending on your age.
The two cubs are slated to be taken to China to participate in a breeding program in 2020 so if you want to see them in Calgary you don’t have forever to do it.
