This Is The Noodle Spot You Need To Try In Calgary If You Freaking Love Ramen

If you’re the type of person to get annoyed when your friends take photos of their meal before eating, then this is not the right place for you.

These hand-crafted homemade bowls of ramen are almost too pretty to eat (almost), and are served up every day at Shiki Menya, in the heart of Bridgeland, Calgary.

The best part is, you get to watch them create it. Sitting at the bar, you get to see the artistry and attention that goes into each bowl. They are known for their Chili Goma dish, but also serve up other classics like Miso and Tonkotsu, as well as other non-ramen eats.

Did I mention the restaurant itself is also super Instagrammable? Not to mention the awesome staff uniforms. It’s really a hipster’s dream.

There’s only one catch. Since they make their noodles and broth from scratch, they only serve 150 bowls of ramen a day and close when they are sold out, which means if you want to get in on the action, you have to get there early. Oh, and did I mention they don’t take reservations? This means people line up on the streets at 10:30 am daily.

Let’s be real though, the exclusivity just makes us want it more.
