The majestic Rocky Mountains are simply magical in the winter when their peaks are covered with snow. Throw in the fact that it's the holiday season and you have all the makings for a can't-miss Christmas experience!

Sure, there are plenty of Christmas markets, lights displays and holiday pop-up bars to check out, but if you're the kind of person who really loves Christmas, then nothing beats celebrating the season out in nature.

The Banff Gondola's Mountain Top Christmas event is on right now and it's packed with events and activities that will make Christmas-lovers swoon. At the Mountaintop summit 7,500 feet up, you'll find all sorts of Christmas delights.

There are some family-friendly activities like visits from Santa, cookie and caramel apple decorating, games and more! It's kind of heartwarming to see kids so jazzed about Christmas. If you play your cards right, I bet you can decorate a cookie, too!

When you get hungry, you can eat one of their two mountaintop restaurants. You'll be hard pressed to have a meal with a better view! There's a Northern Lights Lunch or a Sky Experience Dinner that you can book. Can we sign up for both?

Things start to get even more magical at night when the stars start to come out. Hit up their mulled wine bar where they brew their own magical concoction that will warm you up in every way possible! Their rooftop deck is fully equipped for cuddling with blankets and a roaring fire. Imagine sipping mulled wine by the fire under a canopy of stars!

Finally, the Christmas touch that I think puts this place on the map is the reindeer that wander from Santa's Workshop onto the Observation Deck. There's nothing so magical as seeing Santa's reindeer in real life! You'll want to go home and watch Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer ASAP.

Mountain Top Christmas at the Banff Gondola runs now until Sunday, December 30.
