It might seem hard to believe right now, but camping-season is quickly approaching. In just a few weeks, the snow will melt away, and we can head out for a relaxing weekend in the wilderness. Starting in January, campsites at national parks in Canada are available for booking.

Camping is one of the best ways to spend a weekend with your friends. There is nothing better than roasting marshmallows, hiking, and swimming in the lake.

This year, Parks Canada's online reservation service will be available for 36 national parks across the country. You'll be able to reserve everything from full-service campsites to adorable roofed oTENTiks.

If you are more into glamping than camping, you'll want to stay at an oTENTiks. These pre-setup A-frame cabins are perfect for a group as they come with multiple beds and other essentials like dining furniture and lighting.

Also up for grabs is the eye-catching raindrop-shaped Oasis or tiny microcubes. They make the perfect romantic getaway as you can stargaze right from bed.

The date on which each location will begin accepting reservations varies. So you'll need to visit Parks Canada's website for the comprehensive list.

Here are a few top locations and the dates they start accepting reservations on:

  • Fort Langley National Historic Site - January 3, 2020 at 8 a.m. PST
  • Banff National Park - January 8, 2020 at 8 a.m. MST
  • Bruce Peninsula National Park - January 14, 2020 at 8 a.m. EST
  • Forillon National Park - January 16, 2020 at 8 a.m. EST

  • Cape Breton Highlands National Park - January 20, 2020 at 8 a.m. AST
  • Gros Morne National Park - January 21, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. NST

The types of accommodation offered at each park are different too. When selecting a place on the official website, you'll be able to browse the models available easily.

Just picture it — you can go swimming in the turquoise water at Bruce Peninsula National Park, or set up your tent with a view of the mountains at Banff National Park. There are so many incredible destinations perfect for a vacation.

You'll want to make sure to book your dream getaway fast, though. These campsites are in high demand and will be claimed quickly — especially on the long weekends.

Reservations can be made online where you'll be able to select your exact campsite and dates.
