Are you the type of person who loves singing anywhere anytime? If you love musicals and have a passion for theatre, now's your chance to show off your best singing and dancing skills at this year's Canada's Wonderland WinterFest. Auditions for a host of entertainment positions start this month and the best part is that there's no required experience for the job!
Canada's Wonderland will undergo a jolly transformation this year, becoming a beautiful winter wonderland to celebrate the joys of the holiday season. And, provided you're over 16 years old, you can be a part of the entertainment team providing live singing and dancing!
WinterFest auditions start next Saturday, Sept. 21, at the park, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. If you're unable to make that date, the next audition is on Oct. 5 at the same place and same time. Auditions run until 2 p.m.
If you're auditioning for a singing position, you're asked to come prepared with two up-tempo songs in pop or rock style and bring sheet music. The park also asks that you come dressed for movement with the right footwear. Singers may be asked to stay for a dance call, according to the website.
"For WinterFest, we're hiring about 100 entertainment positions," Grace Peacock, Director of Communications at Canada's Wonderland, told Narcity. The minimum age requirement is 16.
"Currently we're in most need of singers for WinterFest," adds Peacock. There are also other jobs available such as dancers and musicians. If you've been born talented, that's enough to audition as there's no prerequisite to apply.
This year's WinterFest runs on select dates from Nov. 22 to Dec. 31, 2019. The calendar has not been released but will be soon. If you're a 2019 and 2020 Gold and Platinum Passholder, this event is absolutely free. Tickets for the public are not yet available.
If auditioning isn't your thing but you plan on attending, make sure to have your camera ready as you'll be blown away by holiday lights and decor, also listen to live entertainment, and devour holiday-themed treats.
This is a great way to get ready for the joys of Christmas. So put on your dancing shoes and warm up those vocal cords!
