Canada is full of talented celebs.
Canadian Celebrities Who Started As Childhood Stars

While some actors have to train and wait for years before they make their big break into Hollywood, others are lucky enough to get hit with waves of success from an early age, making their break into the industry a breeze. In fact, there are even some noteworthy Canadian celebrities who started as childhood stars.

If you remember way back in the day to when The Mickey Mouse Club was on the air, you may recognize a certain Canadian heartthrob that got his start on the classic show, but of course, there are some much younger stars as well who are just starting out in the industry and already killing it.

One company that loves to cast young talent is Netflix, and they haven't been shy about giving Canadian stars a shot at the spotlight — just watch Stranger Things or To All The Boys I've Loved Before.

It's been said that getting bitten by the acting bug at a young age can lead to troublesome consequences, but from the looks of things, these former (and current) Canadian childhood stars have their heads screwed on straight and have very successful careers ahead of them, not to mention the awesome resumes they've already developed over the years.

Ryan Gosling

At the tender age of 12-years old, Ryan Gosling attended an audition in Montreal for a revival of The Mickey Mouse Club. He was given a two-year contract as a mouse keeper and moved from his home in Ontario to Orlando, Florida.

After the show ended, Gosling continued to pursue his acting career, starring in hits like The Place Between the Pines, The Big Short, and La La Land.

Jacob Tremblay

He may be just 13-years old, but Jacob Tremblay has already accomplished a ton in his career. The Vancouver-born star made his debut with The Smurfs 2 back in 2013 and has since starred in films like Good Boys and Before I Wake.

In an interview with Paper Magazine, Tremblay let fans know that he's very proud of his Canadian heritage, saying, "I am Canadian, a lot of people assume that I am American, but I am not. I am Canadian through and through."

Michael Cera

According to The Famous People, Michael Cera's first role was actually an unpaid Tim Hortons summer camp commercial – how Canadian is that?!

The actor then went on to star in a Pilsbury commercial, and is now known for his roles in Superbad, Juno, and Arrested Development, just to name a few.

Anna Cathcart

16-year old Anna Cathcart got her start in 2016 when she took on the role of Agent Olympia in Odd Squad, although you may be more familiar with her work in the Netflix original To All The Boys I've Loved Before.

According to Vancouver Weekly, the teen star recently made an appearance at the city's WE Day along with other inspiring Canadians.

Finn Wolfhard

Finn Wolfhard is only 16-years old, but he's already been making waves as the star of one of Netflix's biggest series everStranger Things.

Other credits the young star has collected include It, The Goldfinch, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
