Tory Lanez & Drake Have The Most Iconic Canadian Rapper Bromance

Over the years, a good number of Canadian rappers have established themselves, including Torontoâs own Drake and Tory Lanez. Although the two reportedly had beef with one another back in the day, theyâve since made up and have developed a pretty adorable bond between them.
According to The Fader, Drake first recognized Lanez on his track âSummer Sixteenâ a few years back. People believed that the line âAll you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a littleâ was referencing Lanezâs mixtape titled The New Toronto.
The Fader also reported that Drakeâs song was a diss track directed towards Meek Mill. Shortly after its release, Meek responded with âWar Paint,â which called Drizzy out for his comments towards Lanez with the line âTory from The Six you hatinâ on him, Lord knows.â
In a 2019 interview with Nick Cannon on Power 106 Los Angeles, the âFreakyâ singer addressed the rough history with his fellow Canadian and admitted that although he regrets the beef, heâs also grateful for some of the things that came out of it.
âI have a following of people that are like âYo, youâre the one guy who didnât come up with the Drake co-sign and youâre also the one person that [told him] f*ck you,ââ Lanez explained to Cannon.
It seems as though the two Toronto stars have learned how to love one another and share the 6ix though, as they regularly joke with one another in their Instagram comments.
âThe man got his ears pierced and donât know how to act ..... in two months cuz gone have the CAMRONS đđ€Łđđ€Ł,â Lanez teased Drake on a post from earlier this year.
â@torylanez k lo k maaaaami aye aye ayeeee,â Drizzy replied, referencing Lanezâs song âK LO Kâ.
âYouuuuuuuu reaaaaady...D*mn you really got on the funky town clunkers...these Parliament Funk a*s shoes...these Gene Simmons Kiss a*s shoes...these Gothic Babe Hot Topic a*s shoes,â the âGodâs Planâ singer commented on the above photo from Lanezâs IG last year.
The two have come a long way from dissing one another on tracks â now they just do it on social media. We have yet to receive a collab from the 6ix God and his pal, but with Drake reportedly dropping a new album this year, anything can happen.
