Your job hunt just got easier. Google has launched their job search feature in Canada, a whole new platform to browse and apply for work opportunities in your area.
To use it, all you need to do is go on Google and type in your job search specifics as if you're doing a regular Google search. The job page will appear at the top of your search results. From there, you'll not only see a list of potential jobs, but also an endless amount of filters to make your options even more specific to what you're looking for. Including industries, commute distances, job titles and time commitments.
Google job search also offers hundreds of suggestions about which companies may be hiring, under the "Employer" section. You can save the jobs you find, and also sign up for alerts and updates about your applications. The new Google feature landed in Canada after being a major hit in the U.S. and India.
For Canadians, the timing of Google's new job search tool couldn't be any better. Canada saw a huge wave of new full time work opportunities this year, at around 32,300 jobs across the country. Unemployment is still drastically low, but it seems like this new platform will be helpful to many.
Google is also donating $1 million to the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, one of the world's largest urban innovation centres. The donation is going towards a new project that'll help Canadians find work in the modern job market.
