Céline Dion’s Mom Had 14 Children So She Was A Rock Star In Her Own Right

The recent death of Canadian icon Thérèse Dion is a heartbreaking shock to Canada. The 92-year-old was known as the stage mother of her daughter who has been in the music industry since the 1980s. Céline Dion's mom had 14 children and she wasn't the only musician in the family.

Thérèse was born on March 20, 1927, in Saint-Bernard-des-Lacs, Quebec, the same city as her husband Adhémar-Charles Dion. He was born a few years prior in 1923 and died in 2003 at 80 years old.

The two got married in 1945 and had their first child the next year. Céline's oldest sister Denise was born in August 1946. 

The next child came in November 1947 and he was named Clement. A year later, the second sister named Claudette was born in December 1948.

The 71-year-old was born in La Tuque, Quebec. She became a professional singer in 1984 with her first album Hymnes à l'amour. Since then, she's had six albums, and her most recent one came out in 2008 and is called Le Dion Show.

Following Claudette was a sister named Liette, who was born in February 1950. After her came Michel, born in August 1952.

The fourth sister in the family was born in September 1953 and named Louise. After her birth, the parents had a boy named Jacques in March 1955. 

He was followed by another brother named Daniel in November 1956. According to CNN, Daniel died, in January 2016, at 59 years old, following a battle with cancer.

The heartbreaking news of his death came only two days after Céline's husband René Angélil also died at 73 years old after a battle with throat cancer.

The ninth child in the Dion family is named Ghislaine and she was born in July 1958. A year later, her younger sister Linda was born in June 1959. 

The third sister in a row, named Manon, was born in October 1960. 

After that came a set of twins consisting of a brother named Paul and a sister named Pauline who were born in April 1962. 

Most of the age gaps between children in the Dion family are about one to two years, but Céline came six years after the twins. 

She was born on March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Quebec and is now 51 years old.

Céline is currently on the Courage World Tour, which began in September 2019 in Quebec City, and will end a year later on September 18, 2020, in England.
