Whenever an artist announces that they're going on tour, Canadians often anxiously search through the list of dates, hoping to see one in a city that's semi-close to them, or at least more options than just Vancouver and Toronto. Because Canadian tour dates are so few and far between, they almost always sell out, and fans eagerly await the day when they get to sing along to their favourite artists in concert. Unfortunately for Chance the Rapper fans, their big day has been delayed. Chance the Rapper cancelled Canadian tour dates to go on paternity leave.
If you're a fan of Chance, you may be familiar with his chaotic past with his wife, Kirsten Corley. When the couple was just dating, they announced that they were expecting their first child together in 2015. In 2016, the couple stopped living together, and things became quite messy. A child support case was opened, and the duo's drama made it into the tabloids.
After some time apart, Chance and Corley reconciled and became engaged in 2018. They were married in March of 2019 in Newport Beach, California with special guests like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and in September of this year, they welcomed a second daughter, named Marli, into the world.
As a successful rapper, Chance already had a lot on his plate, but now that he's a husband, father of two, and judge on Netflix's Rhythm + Flow, it's easy to see how he could be feeling overwhelmed, which is precisely why he made the decision to postpone the majority of his 2019 tour dates.
Back in September, Chance announced that he'd be bumping many of his upcoming shows to 2020 so that he could enjoy his time as a new father and husband with his family. Of course, fans weren't entirely pleased to hear about this.

"I have beef with @chancetherapper since he cancelled his Ottawa show," one user tweeted. "Chance the Rapper cancelled his Ottawa show and I have FEELINGS," added another.
Chance's Canadian tour dates were to include Toronto on November 4, Ottawa (which his team spelt wrong in the initial release) on the 5, and Montreal on the 7.
When the rapper announced that the tour was being postponed, he took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message. "When (first daughter) Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again,” he wrote.
It's unclear exactly when the rescheduled shows will take place, but fans are being encouraged to hold onto their tickets until the announcement.
