It just got a little easier to order a burrito bowl and enjoy it from the comfort of your home. The Chipotle Canada Uber Eats partnership means you can now get your favourite food from the Mexican grill through the delivery service. As a bonus, delivery fees on orders are being waived for a week!
For anyone who uses the ride-sharing, turned food delivery app religiously and has been waiting for this one restaurant to be on it, it's their lucky day.
Now, for the first time, Canadians can get their Chipotle favourites delivered right to their homes through the Uber Eats app or website as of May 14.
To celebrate the partnership, delivery fees will be automatically waived on any order from the restaurant that is $12 or more before taxes until May 20 at 11:55 p.m. PT.
"With Chipotle launching on Uber Eats in Canada, it's never been easier for fans to get our real food delivered to their homes," said Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer with Chipotle, in a news release.
So that the process is easier for everyone involved during the pandemic, customers can leave a note when ordering for contactless delivery.
Chipotle is installing new features in its restaurants in Canada to make it convenient for drivers to get orders which includes built-in pick-up portals where they can grab the food efficiently.
"We know that adding Chipotle to our current offerings will bring joy to our eaters with the tap of a button," said Lola Kassim, general manager of Uber Eats Canada.
When online orders come in, they are customized in digital kitchens, a second food prep space in restaurants with an ingredient station that is dedicated solely to fulfilling orders that come in digitally.
Those unique kitchens are in almost every Chipotle location and there is even a special team that uses the spaces.
For anybody who doesn't use Uber Eats when ordering food for delivery but still wants Chipotle, burritos and bowls and chips and guac are also available on DoorDash.
There are more than 20 Chipotle locations in B.C. and Ontario.
