Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause, The Nightmare Before Christmas, the list of classic Christmas movies goes on and on. When this time of year rolls around, everyone has their classic favourites that they love to watch, but what about Christmas movies on Netflix Canada that you might not have seen yet?

There's only so many times you can watch a classic before it gets old, or you can recite every line word for word, so this year, why not put your usual traditions aside and test out some new holiday movies while you wait for the big man in red to arrive?

While Netflix may have skipped out on adding a lot of traditional movies to their lineup this year, they sure did load up their platform with original holiday movies, as well as other great Christmas movies that you might not have even heard of before.

Christmas Eve is only a week away, so when you're not doing your last minute shopping and wrapping presents, make sure to reserve a little bit of time to relax with some cookies and hot chocolate while you get into the holiday spirit with a Christmas movie (or three).

Arthur Christmas

Rating: 92% on Rotten Tomatoes

You're never too old for an animated classic. If you checked out the Netflix original film Klaus already this year, then you'll probably love Arthur Christmas just as much.

The movie tells the story of Santa's son, Arthur, who sets out on an adventure to make sure a little girl's misplaced Christmas gift is delivered on time.

Christmas Inheritance

Rating: 43% on Rotten Tomatoes

Like many other Netflix holiday movies, Christmas Inheritance is a cheesy love story, but that doesn't mean it won't still warm your heart and get you in the holiday spirit.

The movie is about the daughter of a CEO who, after finding herself stranded in a small town, learns quite a few things about herself from the people around her.

Christmas Break-In

Rating: 4.6/10 on IMDb

If you're a big fan of Home Alone, you might enjoy Christmas Break-In as well. The movie tells the story of Izzy, a young girl who's left alone at school when a blizzard hits.

Izzy quickly discovers that some crooks have also hidden in the building, and since they've taken the custodian as a hostage, it's up to her to save the day.

The Holiday Calendar

Rating: 33% on Rotten Tomatoes

The Holiday Calendar hit Netflix in 2018 and is about a young photographer who's given an antique advent calendar as a gift.

This seems normal enough, until the calendar begins to predict her future, and unravel a budding romance, that is.

Christmas With a View

Rating: 5.1/10 on IMDb

Christmas With a View tells the story of Clara, a ski resort chef who's less than thrilled when she finds out that her new boss will be a big-time celebrity.

As their paths cross more though, Clara realizes that they have more in common than she thought, and romance is definitely in the air.

Christmas Survival

If you're in the mood for a comedy, Christmas Survival is the perfect watch for you this holiday season.

The movie is about two sisters, Miranda and Lyla who, after inviting their families to their childhood home, quickly realize that rivalries live on, even through the holidays.
