This hockey star has exploded through the sports scene and has already made a huge name for himself. Now, he's sharing all his secrets to staying in shape for free. Keep active and chase those gains with Connor McDavid's workout tips that you can do at home.
On Friday, April 3, the Oiler's captain dropped on Instagram that he and retired NHL legend Gary Roberts would be posting quick workout videos all through April.
"The best part is, all of our workouts can be done safe at home," said McDavid in an Instagram video.
With the month coming to an end, McDavid just posted the fourth and final video on Instagram Monday, April 27. Each video is super short and straightforward, with the exercises taking up just 15 minutes in total.
In the first video, McDavid and Roberts recommended 10 bodyweight squats, a 45-second wall sit, 10 push-ups, and a 30-second split squat hold on each leg. They say to repeat the set four times, making up 15 minutes (or longer if you're out of shape like me).
The others also feature similar exercises, with a ton of pushups and squat variations. With these being so short and so easy, you have no excuse to slot in an exercise break in the day.
Amazingly, none of the exercises require any gym equipment or even needs you to leave the house. You won't even have to leave your bedroom to get strong as a hockey superstar.
There have been been a ton of workout videos and tips out there lately. But when it comes from one of the NHL's top hockey talents, then you know it's tested and true.
McDavid has taken the nation by storm with his incredible skill and athleticism, even after suffering a devastating injury. You'd hardly recognize it though when he's out on the ice.
The NHL's golden boy isn't just known for his top-notch plays; he's also the proud father of an adorable puppy.
The next time you're looking for a quick fix workout that'll leave you feeling the burn like a professional NHL player, you should just pull up one of these videos and give it at try.
