We all know about Fiesta De La Flor in Corpus Christi and its purpose to celebrate local legend Selena Quintanilla Pérez. But if you can't make the drive to Corpus Christi you're in luck because Dallas is having a massive festival of their own called 214Selena that is completely dedicated to the queen of Tejano music.
The festival will span over three days all across Dallas. On March 29th you can join in the fun for free and sing all your favorite Selena songs at Oak Cliff Brewing Co.'s karaoke party. The event will start at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. You can expect lots of music as well as food and giveaways.
If you can't make it to karaoke night, there are plenty of other events happening on Saturday, March 30th, starting with a pop-up art show at Oak Cliff Cultural Center. The show will start at 5 p.m. and feature an array of art all dedicated to Selena. The show is free and runs until 8 p.m.
Texas Theatre will also join the festivities by having a screening of the iconic Selena movie at 8 p.m. Tickets for the screening are $10 and can be purchased on their website.
If you're looking for the chance to take a picture with a stunning Selena mural, you're in luck. Top Ten Records on Jefferson Blvd will be having a Selena celebration with photo ops, music, and CDs and Vinyl records available for purchase. The shop opens at noon but the festivities start at 7:30 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.
Once you're done picking up you're favorite records you can head over to Club Dada for a night of music dedicated to the Queen of Tejano along with a crazy Selena costume contest. The event is 21+ and the party won't stop until 2 a.m.
For the final event in the festival, On Sunday, March 31st you can head over to Country Burger. At the event, there will be a low rider show, lookalike contest and plenty of vendors.
