Due to the widespread coronavirus panic, there is a decreased demand for transportation, and therefore oil. There seems to be a silver lining in here somewhere. Ah, yes. There it is. In your wallet! Dallas gas prices have hit a cheap point which means you can fill up your tank for much less right now.

If you’re looking for the cheapest place to fill up your gas tank, there’s an app for that. Download the GasBuddy app or check out other similar websites to find the best gas stations with the lowest price gasoline.

For the perfect pit stop, you can filter the search results by type of gas, location, price, average ratings, various amenities, and even brands.

The GasBuddy’s community feedback feature largely contributes to the most up-to-date information so it’s always changing, providing the most accurate data. You can also set up alerts when they notice a trend of hiking prices so you can fill up before prices start to upsurge.

However, as of recently, we’ve been experiencing a decline in gas prices. According to AAA Texas, the Texas statewide gas price average has not been this low since the middle of February 2019.

“Gas prices usually increase in the spring due to an increase in demand and lower supply, but this year drivers could continue to see lower prices amid concerns over the coronavirus and impacts to global demand,” said Joshua Zuber, a spokesman for Auto Club AAA Texas.

There's not a better time for a quick coffee break and gas run than right now.

As of writing on March 13, the lowest price in North Dallas for regular gas is $1.70 in Plano. The statewide gas average in Texas for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.01, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

If you can’t feel better about the pandemic, maybe you can at least fuel better at the pump.
