Cooler weather means people are getting ready for the holiday season. Halloween might not be over yet, but that doesn't mean you can't keep your eye out for all the great winter activities. One of the coolest things happening is free ice skating in Denton at their Holiday Lighting Festival on December 6.
The event will have a free 30-minute ice skating session you can participate in. The event is totally free and open to the public, but you can also purchase VIP tickets for $150, which include special parking, an after-party, and entry for five people.
The shops at the square will be participating in the event, but there are also going to be food trucks and other vendors hanging around for you to enjoy. You can take a ride on their horse carriage for just $5.
Live music will get you into the holiday spirit all night long. There will be tons of light all over the place so you can party and take the greatest holiday photos there ever were. The square will be entirely lit in hundreds of twinkling lights that you can twirl your partner under for a perfect winter night.
If you want to avoid all that festival traffic, you can take the A -train for free. While the event is free, they do ask you to bring a small toy donation to give back to the community.
For more holiday fun, you can check out ICE! At Gaylord Texan, where you'll be transported to a magical winter wonderland. You can also see how the metroplex reacted when the temperatures dropped for a nice laugh.
