A Free 3-Day Bluebonnet Festival With Wine Trails Is Coming Near Dallas This Spring
Nothing says springtime better than a vast wildflower field to get lost in (and take lots of pics, of course). Soon, Texas will be taken over by blooming bluebonnets, and you'll get to celebrate the new season the best way of all. Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival is happening near Dallas next April, and there will be fun for days!
The 3-day festival is a tradition in Ennis. The city is proud to have been designated the home of the Official Texas Bluebonnet Trail, and the celebration happens every April.
It is completely free and open to all spring and flower lovers.
The awaited event will have arts & crafts, a farmers market, food, live music, kid's activities, a Wine Wander, and more. But best of all, attendees can walk through more than 40 miles of wildflower fields. Simply gorgeous!
Ennis is the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas, and from April 1 to 30, it showcases the mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club.
Every year, they receive over ten thousand visitors, and tours can be booked for groups interested in knowing more about the trails and the bluebonnet flower, named "The State Flower Of Texas."
The tour, provided by The Ennis Flower Club, lasts two hours and lets visitors experience the trails with a garden club expert guide. The cost is $50.
But let's go back to the fest! Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival will be happening on April 17 to 19. The fest will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.
There will be a stage at the center of the festival offering a variety of artistic presentations. Arts & Crafts workshops and demonstrations will also be happening across the fest all three days. There will also be a variety of activities for all ages.
Don't miss the market, where you can find the cutest bluebonnet souvenirs (perfect as presents) and all sorts of unique products.
An array of food trucks offering delicious food and drink options will be found at the event, so grab a refreshment before going hiking.
Wildflowers walks will be happening at different times so make sure to wear comfy clothes and shoes, sunscreen, and don't forget the camera because the landscapes are breathtaking.
If you are a dog mom/dad, your doggie can attend the fest too.
Each day, you will be able to enjoy the bluebonnets and wander around downtown sipping wines samples from some Texan wineries.
This particular activity will be ticketed and you'll have access for just $30. The admission includes a souvenir wine glass, the event bag, a map of the participating wineries, and the wine samples. You can take home the bottle of your fav wine if you like. This activity will be limited.
Part of the festival's schedule is yet TBA, so make sure you get all the info checking their website frequently for updates.
