This Free Dallas Nature Preserve Has Amazing Trails And The Wildest Hidden Spots To Find

The best places to go for a run and spend time outdoors can sometimes get a little crowded during the summer. The good news is that there are so many places to get out and explore in North Texas that finding one without what seems to be a million people isn't too hard. Oak Cliff Nature Preserve in Dallas is just the place and with eight miles of trails to explore, feeling crowded won't be an issue.

The trail has six loops and two creeks which means you won't have to run the entire thing in one go, but if you're looking to get a long workout in for the day, you totally can. There are open areas where you can hang out and have a nice picnic or you can head into the wooded area - and who knows what you might find there!

The park has several different art pieces and community contributions throughout it. Some of those include a giant metal spider and another is a small area where you can find countless license plates and other signs that past visitors have hung up to note that they were once at the park.

Wildflowers also tend to make an appearance at the preserve when the weather is right. Dogs are welcome on the trail as long as they stay on a leash and you pick up after them. There is only one way to get in and out of the park so we suggest sticking to the trails to avoid getting lost.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the week, all year-round. With 121 acres of nature, it'll be easy to find some peace and quiet in the great outdoors.
