Spring is the time to get outside and enjoy the weather especially in Texas where the weather is super unpredictable. One of the great things about spring is all of the festivals that start popping up. A new spring festival is coming to Texas Discovery Gardens on April 14. The Flora Fest will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
During the event, there will be butterfly releases, yoga and plenty of crafts. There will also be critter encounters which center around the insects that the garden homes. In addition, there will be different stations set up to teach everyone about the garden.
Visitors will have full access to the entire garden which includes their 7.5-acre butterfly farm. You will also be able to purchase butterflies to release on your own for $20.
While there will be some very light snacks, you are encouraged to take a picnic basket with all your favorite foods.
The festival is free for members of the garden but you're not a member you will only have to pay the general entrance fee of $10. This means that you will not only have access to the festival but also the three gardens Texas Discovery Gardens has to offer.
The event is for all ages and pictures are highly encouraged.
The event is named after the annual award the gardens give to Dallas locals who have done outstanding work serving the environment.
Texas Discovery Garden is located in Fair Park by gate 6 and is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
