The Dallas Zoo Is Being Transformed With Millions Of Christmas Lights This Holiday Season

One of the best parts about the holiday season is definitely walking around at night, hot chocolate in hand, gazing up and around at all the wonderful Christmas lights. You can practically feel the Christmas spirit just thinking about it! So, what happens when you surround the most adorable animals with thousands and thousands of Christmas lights? You get Dallas Zoo Lights!

Dallas Zoo Lights is a month-long event lighting up the Dallas Zoo with a million Christmas lights depicting not just your favorite Christmas characters but also animal light sculptures like lions and flamingoes and rhinos, oh my!

If you haven't seen the Dallas Zoo yet, this is the best time to head out. And if you're already a fan of the zoo, this is your chance to see the zoo and animals in an all-new light (sorry, couldn't resist).

In addition to all the wonderful lights, there's a ton of additional activities happening. There's a Holiday Light Show, Rudolph's Sugar Shack, and musical performances every night. You can also see just how Santa does it every year at the Elve's workshop. Or you can ask him yourself at the Santa Meet and Greet.

If you're looking for that special photo as a souvenir or for the gram there are the Texas Star, Heart of Christmas, and Sleigh photo ops.

For crafty types, you can also make nature-themed Christmas ornaments.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for children. That also includes admission to the zoo so even though the lights don't begin until 5:00 p.m. every night, you can go early to visit all the furry friends.

If you get hungry walking around there are delicious s'mores, funnel cakes, and donuts—all special for the Lights event.

The event is a rain or shine so it'll be on no matter what. But if you end up going on a rainy night, make sure you pack so you can still get into the festive spirit.

The Dallas Zoo has been named one of the Top 10 Zoos in the United States.

And if you happen to be a member of the zoo, you can see all the lights for free. Plus, as members, you can skip the line!

You can order your tickets online here and you can find directions to the zoo here.

The lights are only on until New Years day so you better hurry.
