Now that we are entering the peak of the crawfish season, it is time to remember a great truth known by all Texans. The best place to eat the delicious red crustacean is not necessarily seated in a restaurant, but in a boil in someone's yard or parking lot. If your foodie dreams are made up of pounds of crawfish with all the delicious fixings, soon you will be able to see them become a reality. There will be an unlimited crawfish boil in Dallas soon, so prepare your appetite!
DFW Cajun Crawfish Boil will be happening all afternoon on March 7 and will feature live music, contests for adults, kid's corner with fun and games, and merch vendors.
The main attraction at this casual crawfish event is the food, of course. Get ready to taste endless amounts of steamy and delicious mudbugs and all the great sides, including (but not limited to) corn, onions, and potatoes. Yummy!
All the festivities will be taking place in the parking lot and across the sidewalk at 12125 Abrams Road in Dallas.
This event is organized by WannaEat Seafood, a caterer service and upcoming restaurant.
The general admission tickets for the boil are now for sale for Early Birds at $35 per person.
The owners of WannaEat Seafood, John & Brittney Wannamaker, are proud Texas' natives with roots in Lousiana and the Caribbean.
They decided to organize the event under the understanding that the love for crawfish is immense in Texas and is not limited to the people with roots in southern Louisiana.
This will be a traditional boil, with all-you-can-eat-crawfish for all festival-goers. Crawfish are guaranteed until 3:00 p.m. or while supplies last so if you are attending, make sure to arrive on time.
According to the organizers, there will be an atmosphere of fun and excitement at this laid back event. If you bring your group of friends, you'd all have a great time.
You can also start some conversations and get to know new people there as well. Food of this quality can bring together people of all sorts.
You can purchase tickets right now at $35 until February 29. After that, you'll have to buy a regular ticket for $45. The Young Eater ticket, for children between 13 and 17, is $25.00 with proof of age.
This will be a rain or shine event, so make sure to check the weather forecast to be prepared for any changes.
Take into account that no tents, coolers, or pets will be allowed at this event.
