Calling all Riverdale fans! If you’re a dedicated viewer of the hit CW series, we’ve got some great news for you. One of the show’s stars, Camila Mendes, has teamed up with Netflix yet again for a new film called Dangerous Lies, and you won’t believe how twisted the plot is.
In the upcoming Netflix original, Mendes plays Katie, a young woman who works as a caregiver for a wealthy but elderly man. When her boss suddenly dies, it’s revealed that Katie’s boss has mysteriously left his entire estate to her.
As the story unfolds, Katie finds herself wrapped in a web of deception and murder that becomes increasingly complicated. If she wants to make it out alive, she’ll have to question the motives of everyone in her life — including those closest to her.
Dangerous Lies also stars Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), Sasha Alexander (Dawson’s Creek), Elliott Gould (Ocean’s Eleven), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Garfield Wilson (Come to Daddy), and Canadian actor Nick Purcha (iZombie), among others.
Just like Mendes’ other project Riverdale, the new film (which was initially given the title of Windfall) was also filmed in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia back in the spring of 2019.
The 25-year-old actress has also previously collaborated with Netflix on the original film The Perfect Date, alongside Noah Centineo. The movie tells the story of a high school student who puts his brain to use designing an app that allows people to hire him as a customizable date for any occasion.
In her role on Riverdale, Mendes plays Veronica Lodge, the feisty love interest of Archie Andrews. Like so many other shows, production on the teen drama has come to a halt. On the bright side, Dangerous Lies will give us more to enjoy from the actress in the meantime.
Dangerous Lies will be available on Netflix on April 30. You can check out the trailer for the upcoming twisted thriller below.
