It's no secret that long-distance relationships are hard. It takes a lot of patience, steadfastness and fortitude to survive being away from the person you love.
But one couple seems to have mastered the art of making it work. Mikki Miller is a graphic designer living in Minnesota whose boyfriend Tyson Noel lives in British Columbia. The couple gained online attention after they posted a photoset that showed what happened after their short reunion during one Christmas break.
After being apart for three days, Mikki tells Tyson to look under his side table for a special surprise. He finds a briefcase under it that's filled with packages and ridden with handwritten instructions. The instructions explain when Tyson should open each package, and they're all incredibly thoughtful:
"Open when your bed no longer smells like me," says one package. "Open when you're in the mood for some cheesy cuteness," says another. One even says "Open when you're sick of Canada."
Commenters on the photoset immediately let Tyson know Mikki was a keeper:
"YOU DO NOT EVER F*** IT UP WITH THIS GIRL. EVER."
"MARRY HER! YOU MARRY HER RIGHT NOW!"
"WIFE HER SO DAMN HARD... and move her to Canada PRONTO!"
Needless to say, Mikki deserves the award for Girlfriend of the Year (we'll forgive her for thinking anyone could actually get sick of Canada).
UPDATE: Instagram confirms - they are now married! Good going, Tyson and Mikki!
