The first snow has fallen, the cold is definitely coming and the festive season is nearly upon us, so it’s the perfect time to put on your favourite comfy clothes, stock up on tasty snacks and relax with a classic Christmas movie. This year, cinemas across Canada are offering you the chance to do all that at no cost, as Cineplex's "Community Day" Christmas Movies will be completely free on Saturday, December 7!

Whatever your plans are for the first weekend of December this year, cancel them! Because on Saturday, December 7, Cineplex is offering totally free Christmas movies at select locations across Canada.

To celebrate this year’s “Community Day,” Cineplex venues across the country will be showing a selection of the best Christmas movies ever made, and there will even be huge discounts on drinks, snacks, and candy.

To get everyone ready for the holiday season, Cineplex has partnered with Warner Bros. Pictures Canada to offer a line-up of favourite holiday flicks that are perfect for the whole family.  The free movies on offer include A Christmas Story, Elf, Gremlins, and even The Polar Express.

The best part about Cineplex’s free movies on Community Day is that all proceeds from donations and snacks go to good causes, and this year, their chosen charity is Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.

On Saturday, December 7, participating Cineplex cinemas across Canada will be opening their doors for Community Day, starting at 9 a.m. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and will not be available to pre-book.

All movies will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be screened in English or French, depending on the venue location.

Further details and the full list of participating venues can be found by clicking here.

Luckily, if you can’t make it to Cineplex on December 7, there’s plenty of other opportunities to see classic Christmas movies at a heavily discounted price!

Throughout November and December, Cineplex is offering Saturday morning movies from $2.99, and there’s a huge selection of Christmas films showing throughout the festive season.

Favourites include The Polar Express 3D on November 23, Arthur Christmas on November 30 and Dr. Seuss' The Grinch on December 13.

There are loads of participating theatres in each Canadian province this year, so it's likely your local Cineplex cinema will have the free Community Day movie showings.
