You Can Turn Your Old Clothes Into Free Tacos At Taco Bell Next Month
It's taco time!
For three days in February, you can help do something good on a local level and also get something out of it for free. Taco Bell Canada's free taco giveaway is all about giving back to the community and getting a crunchy treat as a reward. Now that's a great deal!
From February 6 to February 8, the fast-food chain will be holding its Layers for Layers campaign which coincides with the middle of winter and the return of the limited-edition Double Layer Tacos.
If you bring in a few items of clothing to be donated at the restaurant's closest location to you, you'll get a free Mexican-inspired treat in exchange for helping charities in your community.
So you do a good thing and get a good thing in return.
To cash in on this offer, bring in a bag of clothing to participating locations between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. You'll get a voucher for a Double Layer Taco of your choice.
The donations will then be distributed to local charities.
"We're sharing our love of tacos and love for our local customers by extending the giving season and giving back to local communities and those in need with the help of our customers," said Veronica Castillo, head of marketing, in a news release.
The deal is valid at participating locations in seven different provinces, including some in Edmonton, Coquitlam, Winnipeg, Saint John, Toronto and more.
"Taco Bell Canada is known for doing unexpected things when launching a limited-time menu item, and Layers for Layers is exactly that, but with an added layer," said Castillo.
As for the limited-edition menu item tied to the promotion, it's a hybrid taco.
It has a crunchy, hard shell wrapped in a soft tortilla shell with nacho cheese in between them.
It comes in three flavours, Cool Chipotle, Cheesy Supreme, and Jalapeño Cheddar.
Along with the donations given in-store, the company will match the would-be profits from each of the delicious double-layered treats given away during the promotion.
The money matched from February 6 to February 8 will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.
If you can't wait to get the layered treat, it's available at participating locations across Canada for $2.99 or for $8.69 as part of a combo.
