Canadians are sure to love Disney Plus not only for its programming variety, but also because it's cheap - like cheaper than Netflix cheap. According to CBC, Canadian residents will only need to pay $8.99 a month or $89.99 per year to gain complete access to the service’s shows and movies. By comparison, Netflix Canada's basic plan is $9.99 a month.

The films and TV series on Disney Plus include Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars productions. A number of highly anticipated shows are already being produced for the streaming service, including Marvel spin-offs "Loki", "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier", "WandaVision", "What If" and "Hawkeye". The new media platform will also be producing a Star Wars series entitled "The Mandalorian".

According to Disney, the service will be available on nearly all major mobile and connected TV devices. The company has already locked down distribution deals with Apple, Microsoft, Google, Roku, and Sony.

Disney recently severed its ties with Netflix and has already begun pulling content from the service in preparation of the launch of its own streaming service. So, enjoy watching Star Wars and Disney movies on Netflix while you can.
