Dragons' Den Auditions Start This Month & You Can Apply For Free

Entrepreneurs assemble! Dragons’ Den auditions start this month across Canada and are open to all Canadian aspiring business owners. Now is the chance for you to pitch the dream product you’ve spent years developing.
If you’re not fully in the loop about what goes down in the Dragons’ Den, CBC described their series as a place “where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their business concepts and products to a panel of Canadian business moguls who have the cash and the know-how to make it happen.”
Auditions kick off later this month on February 29 in Toronto and will continue all the way until March 28 stopping in cities in Ontario, B.C., Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan.
For a full list of dates, you can visit the Dragons’ Den website here.
Candidates are required to fill out an online application asking for general information including your name and business name, product idea, elevator pitch, and other various questions about your company's numbers.
While their website doesn’t directly offer information on how to prepare for a pitch, the Dragons have a video posted on their YouTube channel discussing what they expect an intriguing pitch to include.
Thoroughly understanding and practicing the numbers behind your pitch was a big factor for the stars of the show. They also noted that it’s important to hit all the points of “who, what, where, why, when” in order to make sure you keep the Dragons completely in the loop. Conviction and confidence are apparently also welcomed during the pitch however they recommend steering away from sounding “condescending” when correcting or further explaining facts about your product.
According to the show’s Instagram account, fans of the show can expect new episodes to premiere this fall on CBC.
