Drake's Birthday Is Being Called A "National Canadian Holiday"

Today is October 24, meaning that not only is it officially Scorpio season (and almost Halloween, might I add), but it's also the birthday of someone who's pretty much a Canadian national treasure. If you were to ask Drake himself, or any of his very loyal fans, the guy pretty much put Toronto on the map and has totally changed the face of rap music in our country forever. After all that he's contributed to the North, it's only fair that Drake's birthday is being called a "Canadian National Holiday".

Earlier this week, the rapper celebrated his big day at Los Angeles' Poppy nightclub along with his closest friends from his very exclusive OVO crew, and quite surprisingly, his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. According to E! News, the party was tons of fun, and everyone was having a great time, including the birthday boy and his former lover.

Though the celebrations are over, Drizzy's 33rd birthday is actually today, and his fans from all over the world are making sure he feels the love with friendly messages via Twitter and Instagram. Some fans love the rapper so much that they're insisting that October 24 should be declared a national holiday in honour of the 6ix god.

"It’s Drakes's birthday today, a Canadian national holiday. Having grown up close to Canada, this is very important to me, and I’m staying mellow because Drake, with his Canadian sensibly, would do the same," one user tweeted this morning.

"He paid to make himself Raptors championship rings because the team didn’t give him one," another Twitter user retorted. "No slander. It’s a holiday!", replied the original tweeter.

The Twitter user who called Drake out for his new ring wasn't lying - the rapper had some massive Raptors championship bling custom-designed for him recently. Maybe he was foreshadowing this in his song "Big Rings"?

Regardless if you're a Drake fan or not, it's pretty obvious that Canada absolutely loves him. With his catchy music, his hilarious antics at Raptors games, and his own obsession with Canada, what's not to like? Happy 33rd birthday, @champagnepapi!
