A massive warehouse space in Calgary was recently converted into a giant taco shop with two food trucks and an entire mini golf course inside. If this isn't date-night goals, we don't know what is! The new spot in Calgary, Taiko Canteen, opened its doors on Thursday, Aug. 1 and people have been loving their $5 tacos and the unique golf course.

Taiko Canteen started off as a food truck but now has turned into a self-proclaimed "un-restaurant" in East Calgary. Taiko Canteen’s menu feature Zilfords Friend Chicken, local beers, wines and rotating taps. There’s also a food market in the giant space, and nine holes to play Lucky Putt mini golf with your friends.

Taiko Canteen started its journey as a taco food truck four years ago with the mission to offer something unique in Calgary. They’ve accomplished this mission with their nine-hole Lucky Putt mini-golf course. Their clever golf course actually spells out “Get Lucky,” which was designed by the Taiko team.

A game costs $9 per person to play and they offer deals when you have more friends to enjoy the games with. A foursome deal costs around $36. If you're looking for a cheap group date this weekend, you've found the perfect spot!

The menu remains true to its food truck origins with some upgrades as the serving sizes are larger. Taiko Canteen’s classics like Ginger Beer and Pork Belly are available alongside plant-based options like Coconut Crusted Tofu.

There are also some Taiko “Bols” with superfood ingredients like kale and sides of Corkscrew Mac and Cheese and Baby Kale Salad. Another addition to the menu is the Zilford’s fried Chicken with its wide array of spice options.

Calgarians have been showing Taiko Canteen love all over social media and it's no wonder because the place is perfectly Instagramable. Plus, they're dedicated to equality and proudly provide gender-free bathroom facilities.

If you haven’t already, grab some of your friends and head over to Taiko Canteen for a unique experience.
