Starbucks Canada has just proven that plant-based-everything is a vibe that's not going to be left behind in 2019, dropping two brand-new hot beverages that are totally dairy-free. Just in time for Canadians trying “veganuary,” Starbucks has launched two vegan alternatives to their traditional milk-based coffees, and Starbucks' new dairy-free drinks look pretty delicious!

2019 was the year of plant-based alternatives in Canada, with the introduction of Beyond Meat snacks at Tim Hortons, vegan-friendly fried chicken at KFC and even meat-free burgers at McDonalds.

Now, the coffee giant is stepping up their plant-based game for 2020, by adding two brand-new coffees to their permanent menu that are completely dairy-free.

"More and more, customer desire is increasing for non-dairy options and Starbucks is meeting that demand," Starbucks Canada explained in a press release.

Whether you’re vegan, lactose intolerant or simply a true dairy-lover, these new drinks look almost too good to resist, and they’re available from January 7.

Launching at participating Starbucks locations across Canada, their first new beverages of the decade are the “Almondmilk Honey Flat White” and the “Coconutmilk Latte,” which are both created using alternative milk.

According to Starbucks, the Almondmilk Honey Flat White is a combination of ristretto shots of their Blonde Espresso, steamed almond milk and a hint of honey.

The Coconutmilk Latte combines shots of the Blonde Espresso with steamed coconut milk, plus a strike of cascara sugar topping, which gives the drink "subtle notes of dark brown sugar and maple."

Both beverages will be joining the permanent menu at participating Starbucks Canada locations, which suggests the company has high hopes for their new dairy-free coffees!
