Bakan is a Mexican restaurant offering a unique outdoor and indoor experience with a delectable menu. The 6,000 square-foot restaurant bar offers a mix of nixtamal, mezcal and wood fire fares.
The bar offers a large selection of mezcals by the sip or by the shot offering a great pairing. Each meat, seafood and fish option is grilled on wood fire powered by oak and cherry woods creating the perfect taste.
But if you’re looking for a way to get some alternative protein, Bakan Wynwood offers a traditional Mexican food menu that includes "Guzanos de Maguey," also known as agave worms. According to the restaurant, "These delicious crawlers are pan-fried crispy and served with guacamole on a fresh, handmade blue corn tortilla."
The menu also offers escamoles, a combination of ant eggs, sauteed in butter, shallots, epazote, guacamole and blue corn tortilla. Some claim that these edible insects are food from the gods and super delicious.
For the traditional eater, the menu offers tostadas with ceviche, guacamole, queso fundido, tacos, moles, quesadillas sopes, vegetarian fares and more.
