Gator Tacos Are Actually A Thing At This Cuban Restaurant In Miami
(and they're actually really good!)
So you've had chicken, fish, veggies, and beef in your tacos—but have you tried gator? Caja Caliente in Miami offers gator tacos to any adventurous eaters out there.
The authentic Cuban restaurant opened a new location in Coral Gables this year. You can try gator at Caja Caliente von your next Taco Tuesday outing. You know what they say, when in Florida...
Caja Caliente, home of the "original Cuban tacos," debuted in Miami and opened its new location in Coral Gables in May of this year. The restaurant serves every kind of taco you can think of, plus more tempting menu items like the tuna poke bowl, the yucca chips with special Caja aioli, and the "tamal Cubano."
Caja Caliente is owned by Monica Leon, who started in NYC as a food blogger. Today, she is an accomplished business owner and entrepreneur. According to the company's website, Leon grew up in a family of cooks, and her grandfather opened many Cuban restaurants in Spain starting in the 1970s. Leon certainly takes after him, having opened multiple Cuban restaurants herself.
