There’s never a bad time for mac ‘n cheese and this classic comfort food can be cooked up and enjoyed at home in its basic form or taken to the next level by some chefs. Now, you can enjoy a little of both at this massive food festival coming to Miami. The best part is that admission is free!

This is the third year the NoMi Mac & Cheese is happening at Griffing Park in North Miami, hosted by Lex Promotions and Marketing Group. They always feature quality musical entertainment, and this year hip hop icon Doug E. Fresh will be performing, along with other local Miami bands and choirs.

This is also a special event for foodies, as they will be honoring Mac 'n Cheese mogul Chef Teach from the famous House of Mac. So you know it's gonna be good!

While the event is totally free to enter, there will also be bake-offs and mac and cheese baking competitions hosted by Miami Dade College. If you think your own baking recipe is up to snuff, you can register for a separate price of $27.50, or join the specific mac and cheese baking contest for $27.50.

For serious competitors, there is even the chance to win up to $500 when you test your baking skills against the other chefs of the land.

There will be tons of food vendors, cooking demos, activities, and more.

If you’re feeling a bit guilty over all the decadence, there will also be health screening offered, too.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, so be sure to get there early before they run out of the best goodies!
