When it comes to the bar scene, Florida is poppin' from east coast to west. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, another new bar near Tampa steps in with that sweet nostalgia.
Galaxy Bar recently opened its door in Lakeland in November, bringing with it vibes of the 80s and 90s. From galactic and cute nerdy decor to old-school arcade games, this is one bar that will let you unleash your inner kid again.
It's the first arcade bar to pop up in Lakeland, offering a casual atmosphere with kickass tunes, dimmed lighting and flashing lights of arcade machines lining the galaxy and planet adorned walls.
You can play a little bit of everything old-school here from Austin Powers and other Pinball tables to shooting Space Invaders, Frogger, and even Mortal Kombat, Super Nintendo, console gaming, and much more.
The bar also features a checkerboard dance floor and colorful lights for you to bust a move after having a few brews.
Instagram user Vizzy.art loved their visit to the bar so much that they made a fan compilation video that they posted to their page.
Another awesome thing about this new nerdy nook? Their events!
Galaxy Bar has $1 off drinks and free console gaming every Wednesday until June 2020 that they call Hospitality Wednesdays.
They also like to party at this galactic playground, every Friday they have 80s and 90s parties with Galaxy Martini's and a DJ spinning oldies but goodies until February 2020. Dressing up is highly encouraged, adding to the fun of their atmosphere.
Whether you're here for the games, the tunes, or a cool brew after a long day's work, Galaxy bar is sure to bring a sprinkle of nostalgia and joy to your week.
